Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Silu (司录), a macOS application and related services (the “Service”). By downloading, subscribing to, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Silu lets you dictate by voice and converts your speech into text using automated speech recognition and AI processing, with optional polishing, translation, and question answering. Silu is provided as software; it does not deliver any physical goods.

2. Accounts

You need an account (via email or a supported sign-in provider) to use paid features. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. You must be able to form a binding contract to subscribe.

3. Subscriptions & billing

Silu Pro is offered on a monthly (US$8) or yearly (US$72) basis. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; by subscribing you also agree to Stripe’s terms. Prices are exclusive of any taxes that may apply. You can cancel at any time; see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including: reverse-engineering or reselling it without permission; using it to break the law; attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems; or using it to process content you have no right to process. We may suspend accounts that abuse the Service.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the text and audio you create with Silu. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the Service (for example, transmitting your audio to speech-recognition providers to produce your transcript). See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

6. Intellectual property

The Silu app, brand, and website are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights in them beyond using the Service as intended.

7. Disclaimers

Silu relies on automated recognition and AI, which can make mistakes. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. You are responsible for reviewing output before relying on it.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your mandatory consumer rights.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or end the Service, or your access, for breach of these Terms or where required by law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
